Is Therapy Right For Me?
Honestly, only you can answer this question. There is a good likelihood I would say “yes” since you are on my website in the first place, which tells me something has been going on which has you thinking about SOMETHING. Whether it is about you, or your “friend” or “you have a friend who has a friend”.
It is really difficult, being a First Responder, to reach out and say “hey, something isn’t right. I don’t know what, but something is fucking off.” First Responders are supposedly to never have any difficulties. Some view therapy as “being weak” okay well MOST view it as that way, however I would disagree. I am a First Responder myself and I am more alarmed by those who KNOW they need help with something specific and absolutely refuse to do anything about it. Acknowledging something is “not quite right” or “something is off” is a really good indication of personal insight. We are designed and trained to have insight into EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING around us but God Forbid we need to pay attention to ourselves.
